Amanda also spent time in private practice at both a large multi-national firm, as well as a smaller local law firm, providing legal representation and strategic advice to clients in a wide variety of civil matters, including employment, estate planning and probate litigation.
Prior to joining Grisham and Poole, P.C., Amanda was the founder of Moulthrop Law & Moulthrop Mediation, LLC, where she focused exclusively on guardian ad litem work, as well as domestic, general civil and probate mediations and arbitrations, across metro Atlanta.
Amanda’s current practice focuses on providing guardian ad litem, mediation and arbitration services, in addition to a niche family law ligation practice.
Amanda was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but grew up in Ringgold, Georgia. Amanda’s educational background received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Science Education (cum laude) from the University of Georgia, where she studied to become a high school history teacher. Amanda later attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where she graduated with honors.

She is also a Georgia certified arbitrator. She served for several years as a Member at Large for the Board of Trustees of the Cobb Bar Association and is a founding member and past president of the Guardian ad Litem Section of the Cobb County Bar Association. She continues to serve on the executive board of the section in an advisory role.
Amanda volunteers with the Cobb Justice Foundation, and was, for many years, a dedicated volunteer for the Sope Creek Elementary School Foundation, having served as their Fundraising Chair and President. She served for several years on the Sope Creek Elementary School PTA Board as the Chair of both the Legislative Committee, as well as the Exceptional Children’s Committee, which focused on recognizing and celebrating differently-abled children in the school community.
Amanda has been a featured speaker on both guardian ad litem work and mediation throughout the state for various organizations. Her background in education makes her a particularly skilled speaker and educator on the role that guardian ad litems and mediators play in the judicial system.
Amanda loves spending time with her family and enjoys traveling, running, yoga, and gardening.
